Fruittella

The challenge

Fruittella needed mums, specifically mums born in the eighties and nineties, who buy the sweets their kids eat and have a whole decade of their own summers to be nostalgic about.

The idea

Ask the kids of the nineties what they miss, then hand them a Fruittella.

The message it started with

The work

We did a street interview series at Rushden Lakes. Getting Dani Harmer (Tracy Beaker) to front it was my idea, a throwback for parents who grew up watching her.

I came up with the questions and developed them as part of the team, like what's your favourite memory from your childhood summers, and if you were a fruit, what fruit would you be and why. The summers question got people talking, and the fruit one got the answers we ended up using.

We interviewed as many people as we could and found the good bits in the edit. Nobody was performing for the camera, and you can tell.
